Schools / Early Year Setting

Working in Partnership with Schools and Early Years Settings

We encourage children to participate in Exercise and Sport

Our aim is to develop links with Schools and Early Year settings so children can grow up with a positive attitude toward Sport and be responsible for their own health, have respect for others and have greater self-esteem for themselves. We emphasise the importance of teamwork through games and aim to build confidence as well as teaching some basic martial art moves!

The Benefits to your School/Early Years Setting

By taking part in our sessions your children will experience:

How does Martial Arts fit into the National Curriculum?

We emphasise the fun in sport and exercise and the children who participate really do enjoy our activity. Furthermore we encourage teamwork through play, improving the children's confidence as they successfully cooperate with each other.

Our lessons include learning a martial art sequence of movements, incorporating; coordination, control, balance and flexibility. Many of our games include, running in team relays, catching bean bags and jumping over obstacles.

Our core values are; Respect, Fairness and Manners.

The children will be challenged through learning. Moreover, our Instructors follow structured lesson plans with an emphasis on developing the children's skills and their understanding on how to improve.

They will evaluate their performance using the information and knowledge they learn, further adding to the requirements of the National Curriculum.

Finally, we will provide a Certificate of Achievement for every child enabling the children to recognise their success.

What we offer

We can provide sessions for any length of time and can run them on a weekly basis or indeed whenever we are required!

The courses are suitable for Pre School, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2; all the children need is their normal P.E kit (or comfortable clothing), we supply all other equipment. Our coaches are Fully Insured, CRB/DBS checked, experienced Martial Arts Instructors and with Public Liability Insurance.

We can teach our sessions in a large class room, School Hall or any space where books, toys etc are cleared away safely. On good weather days we love to go outdoors to teach.

We can work with your school in school time or out of hours, morning or afternoon. You may wish our programme to be used as a change to the usual PE activities, PPA cover or extracurricular programmes.

We are inclusive of all abilities and levels of fitness. Both Boys and Girls enjoy our Ninja Tots/Kids courses, even those who would not normally participate in sports

We can also provide:

We take an imaginative and animated approach to teaching martial arts, making our sessions unique and fun

Who are we?

Ninja Tots and Kids has been operating since 2002 under the leadership of Victoria Foote. Victoria's own interest in Martial Arts was sparked during a PE session where she tried out a 'new activity' and instantly loved it. This led to attending sessions outside of School, eventually leading to taking up martial arts in a competitive capacity at National and International level. Victoria realised her ambition by becoming a member of the British team attending both World Championships and Olympic trials. She became Regional, National and British Champion and was chosen as Best Female Black Belt by the Sports highest body. Following a degree in Leisure Management and Career in Sports, Victoria turned her hobby into a successful business. She now successfully balances running a business with looking after her family and two children.

Ninja Tots and Kids would not exist today if I hadn't been given the opportunity of trying a new sport during my School PE lesson

We have worked with many Early Years settings and Schools including: Powell's Primary School and Acorns Nursery in Cirencester. Bussage Primary in Stroud. Liden Primary School in Swindon. Westonbirt Prep School, North Cerney and Bibury Primary Schools in Gloucestershire. Drove Primary School and Croft Pre-School in Swindon. Ashton Keynes Primary and Crudwell Pre-school in Wiltshire.

Don't just take our word for it...

Mrs Emily Akerman, Teacher and PE Coordinator for Bussage Primary School, Stroud

Ninja Tots has been an amazing way to get children in the younger years inspired by a sport. Our aim this year was to encourage participation from KS1 and this has certainly helped us in our quest. The weekly club has not only helped increase participation but taught the children invaluable skills along the way such as increasing attention span and hand-eye coordination. Ninja Tots also came to our sports week and taught each class, from Reception to Year 6, for a 30 minute session. It was great to watch the higher years learn about self-defence and they found the experience very interesting.

Miss Cranston - Teacher, Liden Primary School, Swindon

During our Sports week I invited Mrs Foote to work with our Key Stage One and Early Years classes. This was a sport that the majority of the children had not experienced before and it was very popular. The children were still talking about it weeks later! Each session was age appropriate and matched the needs of the children well. This was very successful and I would not hesitate to include it in future sports weeks.

Lee Edmonds, Teacher and PE Coordinator for Drove Primary School, Swindon

The children at school love being part of the Ninja Tots group. After each session, the children busily chat about what they have done and are quick to show their parents what they have learnt when they are picked up. The enthusiasm for the club has spread across the school and I am inundated with requests from children wanting to sign up next time.

Mr Stewart, Teacher, Westonbirt Preparatory School, Gloucestershire

Ninja Tots offers a unique and innovative approach to martial arts in a fun, structured and safe way. There is clear progression as the children learn the movements and there are many benefits applicable to the classroom in terms of listening skills, concentration, self-discipline and energy levels. I would 100% recommend Ninja Tots to any school provider - you will love it.

Miss Turner, Teacher, Ashton Keynes CofE Primary School, Wiltshire

Many thanks to Ninja Tots for taking the time to lead an assembly and teach a PE lesson. The children thoroughly enjoyed both and got a lot out of them. They still refer to the values of Ninja Tots in their PE sessions and across the wider curriculum. The Instructor was really engaging and supportive and the children responded well to her. The sessions were well organised with a really good mix of information and age appropriate activity.

Cathy Harris, Crudwell Pre-School Manager

Crudwell Pre-School were looking for a new and exciting physical activity to add to our termly routine. This is when we found Ninja Tots. We have had many sessions now and each time Ninja Tots has ensured that the lesson is adapted to include children of all ages and abilities. The children are always very excited each time we have Ninja Tots to visit and can't we wait for our next session. Thank you Ninja Tots.

Helen Guerrini, Parent and Early Year's Teacher, Gloucestershire

Dylan, who is 5, has been attending Ninja Tots for nearly a year. It has really helped him to focus on skills such as listening and following instructions. The Ninja Tots classes are extremely well formulated and I love the fact that they focus on a particular skill each week. Ninja Tots has done a huge amount for Dylan's balance and coordination, which are also crucial skills to transfer into school. He has developed his confidence and most importantly - he absolutely loves it!! As does my 2 yr old who is desperately waiting in the wings to join in. I can't recommend it highly enough.
